Use only fresh mushrooms bought from a reliable grocery source, such as button mushrooms. Wash them well, cook them plain without oil or seasoning, chop them small, and offer a tiny amount. Do not feed raw wild mushrooms, old mushrooms, or mushroom dishes from restaurants.

Start with a tiny bite or one small chopped piece. Mushrooms are not necessary in a dog’s diet, so there is no need to make them a regular food. Stop if your dog gets gas, vomiting, diarrhoea, itching, or discomfort.
