Fruit Juice is common in Indian homes, and many dogs wait near the kitchen hoping for a bite. The important question is not only whether a food is popular at home, but whether it is plain, fresh, digestible, and free from onion, garlic, chilli, excess salt, excess fat, bones, seeds, pits, or unsafe sweeteners.

Offer fresh fruit pieces instead, only from dog-safe fruits, with seeds, pits, rind, and peels removed where needed.

How much is enough?

Do not use juice as a daily drink. Plain clean water should remain the main drink. As a general feeding rule, treats and extras should remain a small part of your dog's daily calories. The main diet should still be complete and balanced.

When to avoid it

Avoid packaged juices, mixed fruit juice, grape juice, sweetened juice, juice with salt/masala, and any sugar-free drink that may contain xylitol.
