Cow Milk is common in Indian homes, and many dogs wait near the kitchen hoping for a bite. The important question is not only whether a food is popular at home, but whether it is plain, fresh, digestible, and free from onion, garlic, chilli, excess salt, excess fat, bones, seeds, pits, or unsafe sweeteners.

How to serve it safely

Try only a tiny amount of plain boiled and cooled milk if your dog has tolerated dairy before. Do not add sugar, Bournvita, tea, coffee, haldi masala, or chocolate powder.

How much is enough?

Start with 1-2 teaspoons for small dogs and 1 tablespoon for bigger dogs. Stop if digestion changes. As a general feeding rule, treats and extras should remain a small part of your dog's daily calories. The main diet should still be complete and balanced.

When to avoid it

Avoid in puppies unless prescribed formula is being used, and avoid in dogs with diarrhoea, pancreatitis, obesity, kidney disease, or dairy sensitivity.
